Mavala STOP!

Mavala Stop! discourages nail biting and thumb sucking is the hot new product recommended by Dentists Nationwide.

Nail biting is a nervous habit, which can rapidly become uncontrollable.

MAVALA STOP has a bitter yet harmless taste and the appearance of clear enamel. It helps break the nail biting and thumb sucking habit. For use by children more than 3 years old, whose taste buds are fully developed and adults. STOP can be used over nail polish.

How to use
Apply a coat over the entire nail (or polish) and allow to dry. Repeat the application every two days. Continue the treatment until nail biting is ended. Of course, before each re-application, remove Mavala Stop with Nail Polish Remover.

Precaution: Never wash hands immediately after application.

  1. Dear Sir,

kindly asking about your product Mavala Stop for nail biting for children , my son is 2 years old and has GSPD ,treat his thumbs with mavala stop will affect his GSPD or not.

    regards

    • Sorry we did not see your inquiry before this.
We do not recommend Stop for children under 3 years old, because their taste buds are not fully developed
under that age, and therefore the bitter taste would not have any effect, and the product would not work.
As far as GSPD, that is an issue you should take up with your doctor, after she is 3, and ready to use the product.
You can always contact us for all the ingredients to show the doctor.

  2. Hi there,

My daughter is 18 months old and constantly puts fore finger and middle finger in her mouth. Will using Mavala stop have any side effects on her? Will it help to use Mavala stop on a child less than 3 years? What are the consequences? Thanks…

    • Sorry we did not see your question before this.
The reason Mavala does not recommend Stop for children under 3 years of age, is simply
because children under 3 do not have taste buds that are fully developed, and therefore,
the very bitter taste, which makes the product so effective, would not work. Better to wait
until the child is at least 3 years old.

  3. Can you advise where to find mavala stop at a store front retailer?

    • Sorry we did not see your question before this.
Hard to give specific store locations without first knowing your city and state.
Hope by now you have found a good source. If not you can find Mavala Stop on ulta.com

  4. I have a 10 year old autistic daughter that is constantally putting her hands in her mouth. Do you recommend your product to stop this type of behavior?

    • Hello, and thank you for your inquiry regarding Mavala Stop.

There is no question that Mavala Stop, with it’s extremely bitter taste,
works well to break the nail biting and thumb sucking habits of its users.
The question you ask concerning your daughter is difficult for us to answer,
as it is outside the realm of our nail problem solving experience.
We suggest that you discuss the situation with her doctor, advising him, that the
product is very bitter, and asking him what he thinks, as the experience could
      be traumatic.

We are sorry that we do not have a more definitive answer, but we do think our
      advise is correct.

      Best regards,

      Mavala

  5. I am a 68 year old male, that has had the nail bitting habit all my life. it was not till just a few months ago, that I realy started to find a way to stop. Three weeks ago I was on line just looking at different things and I found you add. Well I placed an order for some STOP, and thus far I have not bitten my nails for over two weeks. The tast is lousy, and this is a good thing. The bad part is if I have finger food some of that tast gets on the food, but that is life in the fast lane. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being very good) I will give your product a 10 1/2.. It is also good for getting my dog out of the bitting habit.

  6. Hi ! my daughter is 3 yrs young and i have applied Mavala Stop on her nails as she had a habit of nail biting.
but ever since i applied this product- she is not eating anything and is constantly spitting her saliva out.
Please advise, whether should i continue it for a couple of days or shall i remove it from her nails…?
she looks so pale just in one day’s time.

    • In 30 years of selling STOP, we have never heard of such a strong reaction. Based on this, and our knowledge that all of the ingredients are safe, we feel confident that the condition you describe would not last, but it is always best to err on the side of safety, and therefore recommend that you suspend its use.

  7. Is there an expiration date for your product? I can’t find one on the bottle I bought for my older daughter a few years ago. How can I tell if it’s safe for my younger daughter?

  8. Dear Mavala Stop staff,
I am thinking of using Mavala Stop in my patients, but will not do so without knowing the ingredients. (Many of my patients have food allergies and intolerances.) May I please have a list of ingredients, including excipients?
    thank you so much.

  9. Hello, we are using this for my 3 year old daughter and it works great the first day, but by the 2nd day it seems to have worn off (she washes her hands and plays outside in the yard etc a lot). Could I reapply everyday or is that too much?

    Thanks!

  10. My eight year old son chews his cuticles. Is this product safe to put only on the (chewed up) cuticle,, not the nail itself?
